Kaoxitium and SolAndLuna: Misuterii Vice
==About the Game==
Darkest Dungeon is a game of love, of life, of horror, of sacrifice. A man of infinite wealth and infinite curiosity grew bored of his mastery over all he surveys, so he dared looking for greater challenges. Conveniently, there was one right under his estate, so he spent all his resources and sacrificed many lives to unbury and meet the challenge head on.
He lost.
Now, his family is broken, his estate brought to ruin, and the horrors unleashed upon the land. Damning all that dares stay, the estate is but a wretched fetish of evil.
But who cares about that, it's MINE NOW!
I am the last of that family, and given an invitation to sort their shit out, getting their stuff if I succeed, I will be the one to save the day! Join me as I boldly go into the depths to conquer Hell if need be. And by I I mean you chodes.
You are gonna help me retake my ancestral estate, in its entirety. At my disposal is a heritage and prestige beyond renown...although it's seen better days. I'm sure the glory of fighting this new terror will appeal to you enough. Of course, this tunnel with no light takes a toll on your bodies and minds. If you're lucky, I'll get you back the exact same way I sent you out. Worst case scenario is that you all wind up dead, but it's okay, we'll gladly move on without you.
Darkest Dungeon is a turn-based strategy game with permanent death and fickle hero management. They are human, after all. Part of the challenge isn't just knowing how to defeat the bad guys. There's also making sure our heroes don't just plain up say "FUCK THIS" and ruin it for everyone. It's a harrowing battle, though. You will die. I will definitely not help with that. But maybe, with enough blood and enough light, we can retake the Darkest Dungeon.
==Small Requests and Guidelines==
1) I have not extensively played this game, so for full blind fun, please refrain from spoiling info. If it's something that won't give me an advantage, it's fine to talk about it. 1+) That said, this is gonna be a really crummy let's play with me failing to explain things and explaining things multiple times. I can't help it.
2) If you wish to participate, either post in this thread with your choice of a class from these 12, or pester me when I'm on Tanasinn's Misuterii server. 2A) The heroes chosen are first come, first served. If their class choices appears first, then they get in first. If two people chose the same class, then the person who gave me their choice first gets the class. 2B) If they die, they'll be brought back when their class shows up again, same name and everything, but with a roman numeral to denote which life this is. 2C) If they are to die in the depths, then they spend at least 2 weeks dead before they are allowed in again. This is subject to change, but this should give other people a good enough chance to get in when I get the popular heroes killed. And I will get them killed.
3) If a hero spends 10 weeks without going on an adventure, and afterwards a potential recruit shows up, then the layabout will be retired in exchange for the newbie. This time period is subject to change.
==Table of Contents==
==The Victims==
Uitary the Apprentice Crusader (Week 1-3): Met his end by a Brigand Cutthroat in the Ruins. Got slammed with a 12 damage crit, and unfortunately, bled out. PirateJoe7 the Seeker Bounty Hunter (Week 10): Was a simple newbie with a simple goal. Brigands critted and bled him to death in the Warrens. That's what you get for having simple goals. Amelia Pond the Seeker Grave Robber (Week 15): Brigands took this girl's life, but they could not take her lust for battle. No, the bladed death traps did that for her. Kaoxitium the Veteran Vestal (Week 2-19): Brought down by a bone golem. Died as she lived: a pain in the neck. AttObl the Veteran Highwayman (Week 1-19): Held the powers of the hells within him, until he met a hell greater than him. Fought valiantly against a Bone Commander...and lost. Mysterious7 the Journeyman Highwayman (Week 4-20): Was cursed to be in AttObl's shadow forever. When AttObl fell, Mysterious7 soon followed, no thanks to a cute little piggy pointing this out to him.

This warning shows up every time you boot the game.Hello, I am RevivingFairy. Welcome to Darkest Dungeon. This is a game about battling Cthulhu and friends, and taking back the corrupted lands from the forces of evil and insanity. This is what I'm doing, whether because I have no fortune, or I actually want to save my family from evil, it doesn't matter to you. What matters is that I'm entrusted to my ancient family estate. This would be sweet if it wasn't overrun by all sorts of horrible things. That is where YOU chodes come in. I have enlisted a dream team of suicidal moro-I mean valiant heroes to lead expedition after expedition to fight back the hordes and reclaim the relics and land of my family. I'm paying you well, so don't screw this up!It's highly recommended you watch the intro to Darkest Dungeon below just to get an idea of how great of an idea this is.
__--** WEEK 1 **--__
We begin our tale with our stage coach driving us into a ditch. Not pleasant.Luckily, I brought bodyguards to leg the rest of the way to the estate. Say hello to-wait, these are dumb default names. There, I fixed it. Say hello to Uitary, the guy in shining armor; and AttObl, the bandit-looking guy. Uitary is our Crusader, and is thus a really really good front-line fighter. If he is not smiting enemies, he is keeping the light.AttObl on the other hand is our Highwayman. Obvious things: He has a knife and a gun. Not obvious things: He can be useful at any position, and his pistol can make for great crowd control while his knife is a source of bleeding, which we'll get into shortly.Movement is done from room to room, connected by hallways like this. These hallways are different from the single rooms because, as we traverse them, we'll accumulate stress. Stress is unpleasant, but for this first week, stress will generally be neglible. And it's not terribly long before some moron decides to check out our crashed stage coach. He's in for a world of hurt.AttObl does not waste any time attacking.Neither does the Brigand, who is not as stylish as AttObl.Uitary does not waste time in disappointing me. This is him missing. I may or may not be a pro at capturing action screenshots.AttObl is the sole recipient of hero points. Good job AttObl.Any encounter we get into will usually give us loot, even if it's crap loot like this. I'm sure when I want better loot, I'll just kill the lights, because of the many bad things that does, one of the good things it does is give me better rewards. So we're a little bit richer and now we've found what I can only surmise to be the brigand's home. Let's loot it!Interactive objects, or Curios, "occasionally" give you loot like this...okay not like this. Other times we will get fun things like negative quirks, getting our heroes hurt, or even nothing at all. More on this at eleven. For now, let's go through the room at the end of this hallway. (By the way it was more chump change.)I hope you didn't think that last fight was super easy, because here's some real combat. First off, and it's not shown here, but we got ambushed, which means the game scrambles our party positions. This can range anywhere from a nuisance to really unpleasant. Next turn we will want to move Uitary back up, because AttObl, awesome as he is, cannot take hits as well as his clunky partner. The other thing about this fight is this big guy. This guy is much, much more sturdier than the chump we dispatched, and he takes up 2 positions in battle, which means we will need to use something that hits the rear positions if we want to hit this chump currently in the process of shooting me.I waste no time in attacking Bubba,And Bubba wastes no time in shooting me for 6 damage. 6 damage early game is a lot. I also resisted something but I didn't catch THAT as well. Fuck. Now with AttObl in the right position, I can start using his AoE attacks again. While not particularly strong, it's great crowd control. (The orange color in their health bars is the damage I did. Yellow is heals.)Unfortunately, that nerd can do the same. And what I resisted before was a move attempt. Some attacks, like the one you're not seeing because I'm bad, will have a chance to either knock our dudes back or pull them forward. It's row fuckery and it can be just as bad as what I'm about to do for this guy, because I need a paradigm shift.I'll need to get creative. Because I do not need this guy shooting at me all the time. Thankfully, the row fuckery only trips up AttObl, who can't shoot while in frontmost. Uitary can murder from behind just fine. That and I suppose stacking bleeds is a good idea.Uitary brings the brute down to his last ropes. And the bleed damage finishes him off when his turn comes around. This is why status effects are so powerful in this game. They damage before the afflicted move, and if the damage is enough to kill, the afflicted does not get his turn, and just dies.Unfortunately, AttObl could not pick up the spare, and has to eat an attack first, though he easily dodges it.I already have favorites and it's just these 2. Though, for landing the last hit, Uitary feels better about himself. Yeah whatever. Now then, we received a Skeleton Key from the fight. We'll be using it to demonstrate something. With combat over, we can finally observe this chest. It's there to tell you that if it says it's locked, or otherwise fishy, you need a skeleton key to reliably open it. NOT offering the key will usually just punch the moron touching it, and you get nothing.Unfortunately, I forgot to show the contents, but we got 2 trinkets out of the deal. Trinkets are the only thing you can actually "equip" in this game. Every trinket will boost something while lowering something, but the buff is usually better than the nerf. Some trinkets are also class only, for instance, the helmet-looking trinket we have in our inventory is for Bounty Hunter, read: not these two. The weird stone gives us bonus health, but lowers one of our resistences. It'll probably go on Uitary. Now that we've traversed all of one room and fought all of two battles, we can get to the estate proper. Upon finishing the objective you've set out to do, you can leave the dungeon at anytime. We'll be doing this, especially for huge slogs, and believe me, the slogs get really huge as time goes on....but not before distributing experience. Every adventure our heroes successfully complete will give Resolve Experience, dependant on the objective's difficulty. With enough XP, they gain levels, and it's these levels that make them better. They get general stat boosts but the big upgrades we have to pay for, and we can't even do that right now. You might also notice the masks on the screen.Clicking them will open them up and give you a new quirk or two, either good or bad.Uitary continues to disappoint me by gaining an eating disorder and something that is only useful when he is stressed the fuck out. Meanwhile AttObl gets a quirk that will improve his stress reduction in certain scenarios. We'll have a way to fix Uitary later. Until then, ugh.And that was the tutorial dungeon! That was nothing like the real game, which we'll get into next week.

__--** WEEK 2 **--__ Welcome back from the kiddie pool. Every week we will be greeted with this screen, and I'm only showing it here for demonstrative purposes. I'll be summarizing this screen from now on, because this probably won't fit everything in a single screen. Chances are I might just do nothing that shows up here for the week. Now then, without further ado, welcome to the Misuterii Estate!itsnotadumpshutupWe'll be managing our party and tending to their needs here. Right now, we have all of 3 things, each of which has an exclamation mark to highlight that it's new. This is a recent addition. As such, I have no idea what this does right now outside of watching movies. Maybe it's just a place to watch old movies? Or maybe there's more to it. I don't know. I don't care to know. What matters is that we have the best graveyard in the land! Look at our graves! Order yours today! Our dead will show up here, and I've heard the recent update gives a better after-action report on how they managed to die. When we lose a dude, I'll be looking forward to this screen. Also, I will probably include a mortuary in the OP once we lose our first hero.This. This is the most important thing ever. This is the Stage Coach, and here, we get our new heroes. The Stage Coach brings us 2 random heroes out of these 12 you see right now. (You might have heard this phrase before.) It is completely random, and as such, who knows who is going to see action first. My only limit is that if no one picked the class, then I can't use it. Randoms would take the fun out of this gimmick.Without further ado, say hello to our 2 new suckers! Nekoja commands really scary ailments and debuffs, she can stun both rear positions and stack blight after blight on a single target. She also possesses the ability to scramble enemies, throwing them into a random position, but she has to hit through their knockback resistance first.Accompanying her is Kaoxitium, a Vestal. Now, I might have said before that Vestals are best healies, but she, right now, is not best healie. This is because Kaox started with the party-wide heal for 1 to 2 HP...but not the single target heal for about triple that. This is gonna be a problem, but I'm thankful none-the-less to have someone who can keep our HP from hitting and staying at 0.For completeness, here is the nature of our 2 starting heroes. Uitary continues to disappoint me.While AttObl continues to impress me.Almost every building in the town can be upgraded, and this is where we use our heirlooms. You know, the numbers at the bottom that isn't the big one denoting our gold. As we go through certain dungeons, we'll receive heirlooms, which we can, I can only imagine sell off to the township to patch up the dreary mess EVERYTHING IS IN. The first two upgrades are nice and cheap, I will be getting them. Afterwards, I will see if I can stay ahead of the max heroes and keep the Barracks upgraded. I really won't need more new heroes beyond 3 or 4 a week. Now with what few township hardships we have out of the way, we are ready for our next adventure! Of which there is only one. Here we select the quest to do, and our party for the job. Of which we only have enough for 1 full-sized party, so the only choice I'm making is who to place where. We are going with team "Tricky Glory", because Kaox HAD to have no single-target heal. At the front position, Kaox can still party heal and help lay down the hurt. We'll soon see in a minute that I made a mistake already. Get used to this. RevivingFairy's wild ride is paved with mistakes.Once we've made a party and chose a quest, we get to buy munitions! We need food and torches. That's a given. Everything else, however, is optional.-Shovels are used to clear giant walls of debris which, without, we have to painstakingly do it by hand, and it will hurt both physically and mentally. They can also be used to jimmy locks, in case we don't have a skeleton key.-Antivenom is used to cure Blight, poisons, toxins, you name it, it cures it. If we were going into a blight-heavy map, we'll be using this.-Bandages are used to cure grotesque bleeding. Now, I forgot something, which if I remembered I would've gotten these for: bleeding and blight stacks. If you get hit with a lot of bleed that's going to do you in. We'll see how this is a mistake later.-Medical Herbs will cure diseases and maladies, which for now, won't be a huge problem.-Our old buddy Skeleton Key is back, and we'll probably want to take at least one, because we usually find a locked something at least once per adventure.-Holy Water is Holy Water. This is more used to getting rid of corruption from interactive objects. If it looks like someone pissed in it, clean it with this, and get rewarded. Now, I brought 16 articles of food. The game recommends you bring 8 food and 4 torches. The game is luring you into a trap: death. You have the money. Come prepared. But not overprepared.(Trying something new: the rest of the entry will be on imgur, since I do not want this to be an infinitely vertical thread to read. The link is to the whole album, and it is courteous enough to start you on the next image, so don't worry. Just think of it as a picture book with a bookmark.) **Turn the page...**

__--** WEEK 3 **--__
So last time on Darkest Dungeon, we fought some real terror, and real terror faught us. Who won that day, well, we really don't know. Maybe we just called a truce and laid off eachother.
Last Week: Nothing behind the scenes happened.
This is a great time to unlock the stress relief venues in our town. The Abbey brings us relief through faith in Jesus, either through meditation, praying, or hurting one self. Most of the time, you will, at the very least, get stress removed, but several other effects can happen during the weak, some of them negative.
But that's not important, what's improtant is that Kaoxitium needs a nice, long break from this shit, by praying to Jesus.
Once you commit a hero to stress relief, you pay the gold and that hero is set to relax for the week. Kaox is not gonna see action this week. Kaox is probably not gonna see action for a lot of weeks.
The Tavern is our alternative. These are more physical means of relaxation, and they aren't necessarily better, they just have different side effects. We can drink our worries away like any man, gamble and be best buds with fortune, or get some prostitutes.
Since AttObl cannot gamble and the pub is being taken, I commit him to the whores meditation. Nekoja, on the other hand, I send off to gamble.
Both the Abbey and Tavern can be upgraded, and they are upgraded by activity. If we focus on one activity, we'll get better treatment from it, cheaper costs, and additional slots to put our heroes in, which we will probably need at least an extra one for, because as you've seen, the dorks who run our town uses these venues as well. Seeing as how Kaox is the most stressed, I go ahead and buy the first upgrade for Transept, which is better stress recovery.
With that, only Uitary is fit to get back out there. Lord help him.
We receive our first Leper, Generic-Knight, this week. Lepers are suppose to be inaccurate, and giant tanks, but maybe his good quirk and his skill will allow him to ignore that first point.
We also get a replacement Vestal, Apaula, who is a priest who fears the Devil. I thought the point of being a clergywoman was to chase the devil.
Herein lies the bad news, and today's Rev's Moron Mistake. I did not get another class I can use. I only got another Leper, and I NEED to have a band of 4. That means I have to rip Nekoja out of gambling. I DON'T get my money back if I have to do this, and I did not know you NEED a party of 4. Damn it.
Oh well, hopefully Nekoja will be fine.
Just fine.
Today's lineup consists of Generic-Knight, Uitary, Apaula, and Nekoja.
Besides, we have the money to be prepared for this.

__--** WEEK 4 **--__
Last time on Darkest Dungeon. UGH.
I was lucky once, not twice. Just UGH. Let's pretend last week didn't happen.
Last week: Abbey: Kaoxitium prayed, recovered 69 stress, and is no longer Paranoid. Abbey: AttObl meditated and recovered 45 stress. The Weald has been unlocked. I think the Ruins was also unlocked at some point but I'm gonna be ignoring the Ruins for a while.
My does the stress add up. I was kinda suppose to get money and heirlooms to use the next two unlocks. Without them, I think I can afford one thing in town and then have to go back in, when I was suppose to bring our heroes up to speed this week.
Shameful.
Here is the blacksmith, which I can't use right now because I do not have enough deeds to get the first rank up. This is where we pay money to upgrade our equipment, and in turn, our stats. NOT being able to do this right now is, definitely painful.
Also, for some reason you only get told the class's capabilities here, and no where else.
The guild is where we both improve our attacks to do more damage and give better odds, but also to buy new, better skills and put them in if we need to.
Every Hero can only have 4 skills active at a time, but you can buy and train all 7. Why you would is beyond me, but whatever.
For instance, I am going to improve some of AttObl's skills, and then I'm going to unlock a new attack for him, because I'm never going to use Take Aim.
AttObl at least gets a buddy, Mysterious7. He is a klutz, and knows how to traverse the place we've been traversing. How nice.
Yes, I am having to bring out a THIRD cleric because I keep on getting them broken. Say hello to Tanasinn. The thing I like about Tanasinn is that she has both heals and is not part of a doomed party. Tana also cheats, and has bad eyesight.
This time let's NOT DO A REALLY HARD QUEST THAT REQUIRES A REALLY SOLID PARTY. Let's just explore. Exploring is safe. I do it all the time.
Today's lineup is great: Mysterious7, AttObl, Kaoxitium, and Tanasinn. Funningly enough, this is a party name. Say hello to team "Safe Shot". It, actually does live up to its name as we're about to find out.

__--** WEEK 5 **--__
Welcome back to Darkest Dungeon. Last time, we had a pleasure cruise because the spine splitter was proving to be a bit too much. Unfortunately, going back into the kiddie pool has done little to get me out of the situation I'm in right now.
Everyone's stressed in some capacity. You might remember that I committed no one to stress relief during Week 4 because I was really, really short on cash. (That's why there's no Last Week report. There's nothing to report.) Now? ...Well, I managed to do an expedition and, that's about it. I'm still dangerously poor.
This is going to take some drastic measures. VERY DRASTIC MEASURES.
Last week: Nothing behind the scenes happened.
But first, say hello to SolAndLuna, our new Bounty Hunter. Tough as nails, hopefully, and imposing, he will prove to be a pretty good addition to our front lines. His true power, however, comes from his arsenal of status effects and row fuckery. He can also mark monsters, but right now we don't have anyone else who can mark, so this won't really come into play now.
Joining him is Merne23, our FOURTH VESTAL. There is literally nothing interesting about her, except that she's anemic.
This is the week we get our heroes happy again, because if we don't then we are going to end up with no one usable next week. Nekoja and Mysterious man the tavern,
while AttObl talks to Jesus.
Now then, time for another exploooooooorrrrrrrrrr,
wait.
ALL OF THESE ARE SKIRMISH.
Damn it. Damn it. Damn it. Damn it. Damn it.
Oh it gets better, THIS is the most viable party I have right now: SolAndLuna, Kaoxitium, Tanasinn, and Merne23. By the way, 2 of the 3 Vestals have middling stress. I'm concerned for Tana and Kaox, but I literally have no one else.
Gotta get cash get cash get paaaaid

__--** WEEK 6 **--__
Last time on Darkest Dungeon, Tanasinn achieved perfection, Kaoxitium was appointed SolAndLuna's tormentor, and somehow, we managed to get money back.
NOW TO SPEND IT.
Last week: Tavern: Mysterious7 gambled and recovered 55 stress. Tavern: Nekoja had a night on the town and recovered 45 stress. Abbey: AttObl prayed and recovered 69 stress.
We got some new dudes! AceForce the Hellion joins us. Hellions are perhaps the most devastating attackers, and they can easily cleave through any and all monsters. Their incredible force comes at a price, though, half their skills will lower their offense, their dodge, and, with overuse, make Hellions useless for the rest of the fight. Handle with care.
And we also get OstentatiousAether, or Aether for short because that's too long of a name, as a Grave Robber. I probably said something along the lines of "Dances around like a fag" for the quick character description, but Aether proves me wrong by not having any of the movement skills. Aether is better for utilities than attacking anyway, because that poison dart does do some really nice blight damage, and she is very accurate.
Behold, the fruits of our labor is finally had. I got enough papers to unlock tier 2 weapons.
The damage increase might look negligible, but it's +1 to the already wide damage rolls and we're dealing with monsters that we can oneshot or better. Every point helps, both in damage and in crit chance.
Mysterious7 is getting some new digs because he is coming along this adventure.
So it's about time I start cleaning out the crazies in the town. Generic gets his long deserved ticket to peace and tranquility,
while SolAndLuna receives relief in the only way fitting for SolAndLuna: punishment.
I will WHIP YOUR FEAR AWAY.
Meanwhile, Merne is gonna drink that incredibly strenuous expedition away. Hey, she wasn't the one who was getting beaten around and made fun of.
I also take this time to distribute some hanging trinkets in our inventory. For instance, this Hellion only trinket now gets a u-wow that is garbage. This Hellion only trinket does NOT get a use. Bleeding is part of the Hellion's skillset, after all.
Though smart me would've equipped it anyway because of reasons.
Today, AceForce, Mysterious7, ObstentatiousAether, and Tanasinn joins us for another horrible adventure. I can use more deeds, so it's more Weald.
The big thing about this, though, is that all the missions available that I wanna do are Medium length.
This means we chop down a tree to make some firewood for the journey, because it's gonna take a while. This means that later down the line, we'll be camping!
Also I am blowing every last dime on this expedition. Inbetween the stress relief and upgrades, we are dirt poor. Today, I intend to make sure we do not suffer poverty again.

__--** WEEK 7 **--__
Last time on Darkest Dungeon, RevivingFairy sent some dorks on our first medium length mission! RevivingFairy forgot to send them torches. RevivingFairy also tried getting them killed by spiders. Hilarity and stress ensued for all, but thankfully, everyone made it back with a good enough haul. To RevivingFairy, that's what matters, and because I managed to break even on this expedition, for some reason I'm gonna take my moron self and play another week right after that one.
Stress smess, it's a moot point when everyone's at breaking point anyway.
Last Week: Tavern: Merne23 had a night on the town and recovered 45 stress Abbey: SolAndLuna engaged in flagellation, recovered 65 stress, and is not longer Fearful. (yaaaaay) Abbey: Generic-Knight finally got his meditation ticket, recovered 45 stress, and is no longer Selfish.
At least the expedition brought me papers, so we can accept new people again.
Here is a Rev's Moron Mistake of a lesser calibur. For some reason, my eyes crossed when reading the "people who signed up for this shit" paper I had. Somehow, someway, I confused Maltramac, who was suppose to be our Hellion, with WolfShock, who is suppose to be a Leper but nope, im a dumb.
So for this week we'll be calling this Hellion WolfShock, even though it's Maltramac and it'll be Maltramac when this is all over.
You know, just in case you needed more proof that I'm the biggest of morons.
Oh and no one else chose the extra Grave Robber or Hellion, so they get put back into the community chest.
I have overflowing heads and shields. It's time to make the Abbey a much better place.
There we go. I picked up the relief boost for the Cloister and Penance Hall, and shot up the Transept to be cheaper and allow an extra slot. Jesus will make us feel better.
Kaox and Tana are going to forgive the sins together.
Merne meanwhile is available for round 2, so I tweak her skills for the road ahead.
We shall push on with team "The Bloodletters", consisting of notwolfshock, SolAndLuna is back from punishment hour, AttObl is getting some more action again, and Merne23 is getting dragged into this mess again.
The good news? This is a medium Explore mission. I really do not expect things to go awry, and if they do, it's going to be my fault.
1,600 gold for munitions. It hurts. At least THIS TIME, I REMEMBERED THE TORCHES.

__--** WEEK 8 **--__
There is something about Explore quests that make them so much easier to do than Skirmish/Slay/whatever quests. Compare Week 6 to last week. Week 6 proved too daunting and it turned us back, but we managed to pay for our expedition. Last week, on the other hand, we finished the mission with relatively few hiccups, and made off with a king's bounty while we were at it. We actually have money to throw around and improve our heroes with. Pinch me I must be dreaming.
Last week: Abbey: Tanasinn donated 1,000 gold to the kids in the town. That's alright, considering I have overflowing cash now. Tanasinn also lost 69 stress and is no longer Abusive. Good to go! Abbey: Kaoxitium got sick of me putting him in horrible situation after horrible situation and has left in search of a holy vision. Good riddance. If anything, though, when he comes back, he'll have recovered 69 stress and will no longer be Selfish.
Possesing the heads necessary and having no use for these shields right now, I power up the Transept to give supreme stress recovery.
And I do mean supreme. Aether and Mysterious go in to forget all about Week 6.
I suppose I should go remove AceForce's stress while I'm at it.
Maltramac, however, is good to go for another round. For her valor and ability to laugh off eldritch abominations, I trick out her glaive.
After receiving numerous complaints about the treatment SolAndLuna has been getting, I finally decide to put him at something better, gambling.
You're welcome.
And now, the new arrivals. Superhats is an exciting new Plague Doctor that has a weak grip on life, with curiosity being responsible. Though she can explore the Weald like her own backyard, so that'll be good for later.
So, I unlocked this at about week 5 or 6, but I haven't had the chance nor money to demonstrate this until now. Here's the Sanitarium. Because nega-quirks can suck really badly, this place is here to get those off.
No strings attached.
No, really, of all the things that can fuck up in town, this is the one place that cannot.
Now THAT'S some good health care.
Handing out more upgrades to the people who will be joining me today.
Because we are going on a very special mission. See, that last quest managed to, so they say, "clear a path to the boss". This means that we can now do a boss quest beneath the Ruins.
A boss quest is relatively simple: find the room with the boss, kill it, and then leave at anytime. The one thing I'm concerned of is that even the first boss you're likely to face can prove troublesome. So of course I'm going to bring Generic, Maltramac, AttObl, and the newbie Plague Doctor Superhats in. It's okay, AttObl's greatness will make up for SuperHats' lameness.
Oh and, before we go, I'd just like to point out. The rightmost quest for the Ruins? It's a Champion quest, as in, suited for max level heroes. If I was super suicidal I would charge valiantly into this shit and get everybody killed.
This IS a medium quest though, for reasons.

__--** WEEK 9 **--__
Last time on Darkest Dungeon, we managed to get to the bottom of the Bone Depot mystery and split its head in two. We then stole all his valuables and left the Ruins bursting with gold.
That adventure couldn't have gone any better.
Since my roster is full, I'll make a new rule to help clear out the skeletons since I seem to be unable to make any: Any hero that doesn't see action over 8 weeks will be fired and replaced with someone more able, but only if the roster is full and someone new is available.
Last week: Tavern: SolAndLuna recovered 55 stress after juggling with dice. Tavern: AceForce drank so much he stammered out of the tavern, passed out, and lost the Bleed Charm I gave him. Fucking. At least she recovered 56 stress and is no longer Selfish. Abbey: Mysterious7 prayed and recovered 86 stress. Oh yes, now we are talking. Stress recovers like this is going to solve problems. Abbey: Aether, however, is going to bare witness to new problems, after observing...unsavory...activities. Let's just say that Aether never ever wants to go back to the Transept ever again nor associate with anyone that goes there. (this is a nega-quirk) Though, Aether still recovers 86 stress. I am going to assume it's because Aether found counseling by normal people afterwards. Sanitarium: Tanasinn got lasers pointed at her Lazy Eye and it's all fixed now. Abbey: And Kaoxitium decides to show her face around here again.
I would like Merne to be able to keep her blood, so I try to get that 10% bleed resist up.
Also, it is time to manage trinkets. I still have a good deal of them, but some, like this Selfish Pendant I picked up and then went "Nope" needs to go.
The big update allows you to throw useless trinkets you will never use into the Nomad Wagon for a pretty good amount of cash back. Even the low grade trinkets can fetch a pretty penny, and now, if one doesn't have a use for the piece of crap trinkets quest rewards or spiteful encounters give out, they can always keep it for collateral.
Continuing my inability to show things off when they unlock, I forgot that the Survivalist is a thing. The Survivalist is like the Guild, but for camp skills. The similarities end. The only upgrades for the Survivalist is cost reduction, and unless someone's camp skills are REALLY AWFUL, I probably won't be touching this screen ever.
But I suppose Aether's class has better camp skills, so I go demonstrate using this lady.
Like attack skills, you can only pick a certain number of skills to bring along the expedition. For camp skills, it's 3, but 3 is usually all you need. I decide to train Aether to be a really good scout late in the expeditions.
So begins gearing up our upcoming party for the next adventure. Kaoxitium gets a shinier mace. I debat the logistics of spending money on a person like Kaoxitium.
And I also power up Kaox's healing. The second level of the party wide heal does nothing but change the heal amount from 1-2 to 2-2. Not a whole lot, but guaranteeing everyone gets 2 HP back is much better than sometimes giving everyone just one point.
Mysterious7 becomes a better shanker. The main reason why I want to upgrade attack skills like the basic attack and the melee skills is that we get better accuracy with higher levels. To hell with everything else, it's important to HIT things.
F'instance, more ACC is more Generic.
And I might've spoiled our party already. We're going in with Generic-Knight, Mysterious7, ObstentatiousAether, and Kaoxitium. They're in for a nice pleasant medium Explore quest. Even for the Weald, I do not see how this can go wrong.
Especially since I can buy everything but the kitchen sink now.

__--** WEEK 10 **--__
Last time, we had to clear out a bunch of tentacles in the Weald. All the shovels in the world couldn't do it, so once again, we have broken heroes. Hooray~
Last Week: Sanitarium: Merne23 got some of her blood fixed.
It broke people that weren't Kaoxitium, who is awful anyway, but it wasn't entirely in vein. Their excruciating expedition means we can get armorsmiths in here to improve our dodge and HP.
At least we finally get a new class, and a new arrival. Say hello to NinthRoyal the Occultist. Occultists, as I described, are red mages. They wield dangerous eldritch magic against their foes, some of which comes with side-effects. The side-effects aren't the big deal though, the big deal is that they have every tool imagineable and isn't proficient in any of them. The one exception to this is debuffs, of which they have two and both of them are really good, though they're single-target.
NinthRoyal as a person, as you see, has Lockjaw, which is an awful disease that lowers his accuracy and damage; Phengophobia, which means he gets stressed when we have high light level...and Slugger. It also doesn't help that I do believe I used him on the rearmost position. Fuck. Why do the ranged fighters always get Slugger?
Anyway, say hello to Ibuki Mioda as well. Ibuki is remarkably uninteresting, only knowing how to explore the Warrens and being a cheater cheater pumpkin eater.
You can cure being a cheater at the sanitarium.
As I said, it's good health care.
Now before we begin, I'd like to talk about the rule established last week. At first, I had set the limit to 6 weeks, and then went and did a check through who has seen action.
Unfortunately, that means that Apaula, being stuck doing nothing since week 3, was fired from the Misuterii estate due to having to compete with 3 other Vestals. Apaula never got cured of stress because the other Vestals were in line and generally kept their cool, with the exception of Kaoxitium.
Since then, the limit of inactivity has been bumped up to 8 weeks. I really want to avoid throwing people out I never use just to get people I can use, but I really shouldn't be carrying the deadest weight that never show up or never get the chance. If anything, if I hate them that much, I really should just send them on a death run.
At least with the space freed up, we get a new Bounty Hunter. PirateJoe7 also likes the Warrens and hates the light. Other than that, PirateJoe is pretty normal, and even has a bleed attack for when he's not frontmost.
I won't be using it even though it's one of the best bleed sources, weighing in at 3 points for 3 rounds at first rank. But there's a reason why I don't capitalize on this.
But first, fixing Kaoxitium AGAIN.
and fixi-oh right, Aether saw fun things last time, so unfortunately, she gets the bucket stress relief that is meditation.
Well, I suppose it'll do, but it's not 85 stress reduction. Her funeral.
I don't hate Nekoja I think Nekoja can be a good Plague Doctor and Nekoja has gotten some good quirks, so I try to make her fit for next week.
But that probably wasn't the best choice because I need to fix Generic-Knight and Generic-Knight only wants to pray. Unfortunately, Kaoxitium called dibs, so he's stuck at this stress for the week.
Obligatory "upgrade equipment of the party being used this week".
I make the sanitarium gobble up less money and throw Mysterious in.
Because I am going to start seriously using it now to fix up the people who are fine enough to not need relief but not coming along the week's expedition.
Hopefully by the end of this I will cure thievery amongst my heroes.
Now, while NinthRoyal's debuffs are very useful, they're very useful against single targets more than they're useful against encounters. As such, I buy him a better skill. I do not need both debuffs.
...Is what I'd like to say, but in truth, I buy Ninth a new skill because he cannot stab from where he's going to stay for the expedition.
Now then, the fact that I had 3 newbies and a couple more in the ranks set something off in me. It's the lack of blood sacrifices.
We are going to the Warrens this update. My intention is to put these new recruits through hell.
Don't worry, they'll have a supervisor. PirateJoe7, AttObl, Ibuki Mioda, and NinthRoyal get to enjoy the catacombs of this lovely place. I don't have a terrible use for paintings right now, but it's both easy, and this party has a couple of quirks that make Warrens exploration easier.
I forgot to take a pic of provisions, but whatever. I brought the important stuff, food and torches. I also brought some shovels and bandages for...some reason.
And a key.
Tell no one but this is actually the first time I've been in the Warrens.

__--** WEEK 11 **--__
Finally getting some new blood, I decide to put them through a test: going through a dungeon we haven't before. Some people made it, one didn't, and some did not like what they saw. (pigs)
AttObl is becoming greater than the monsters and he knows it.
Last Week: Abbey: Nekoja and Kaoxitium joined hands and formed a praying bond. They both recovered 86 stress, and it cured Kaox's Abusive tendacies. This is like the 3rd time Kaox has been afflicted. Abbey: Meanwhile Aether meditates on how faith can go so wrong. She recovers 56 stress, and is also no longer Abusive. Sanitarium: They fixed Mysterious7's bumbling about. He's better at dodging now.
I cannot use a single one of these people.
I suppose it's fine though, considering I have no space.
Oh, have I mentioned the Caretaker yet? He has the best job ever: screwing me out of my money and then taking up my venues.
He's a nice guy.
And for some mysterious reason Nekoja was put in here. I have no idea why or how, because I do not recall doing this.
Hopefully I didn't actually lose money and it was just an oddity.
Much better. At least Generic only wants the BEST relief.
I take this time to dispense trinkets. Sol's helmet is no longer useful now that I have these boots, which does everything the helmet did but better.
Doctors are now clubbing.
NinthRoyal meanwhile gets a whore paid for.
Deep breaths for Mysterious.
And so begins the routine. I usually save equipment upgrades for when heroes are about to roll out again.
In fact, since they're so telling, I might just cut them out. It's not a big deal to see what upgrades people get anyway.
The quests weren't really kind to me. See, we're starting to get into the part of the game where Veteran quests are becoming more available and Apprentice quests are starting to go away. A lot of them looked neat, but I had low cash and I did not want to overcommit and have it go terrible, or something.
Maybe I just threw a dart at the monitor and went with it. Oh well, at least this quest will be entertaining. It's another Skirmish quest, and this time, SolAndLuna, AceForce, Tanasinn, and Nekoja will be joining us today.
I forgot to capture the provisions I bring AGAIN. It was like, a stack of food, 2 torches, and a shovel and an antivenom. It's a short mission. We don't need to be loaded for bear.
Maybe that's why I picked this mission.

__--** WEEK 12 **--__
Last week had a rare instance of the world's easiest Skirmish quest. Even killing the lights did not do much to raise the excitement. I apologize for how short and boring last week was. I'll make it up to you.
Last Week: Tavern: NinthRoyal is back from the prostitutes and got 65 stress off. Tavern: Superhats is back from gambling and recovered 56 stress. Tavern: Ibuki Mioda drank, a lot. I should get better booze so I get more than 56 stress recovered. Abbey: Generic-Knight got his light back. He recovered 86 stress. Is it just better if I say if someone prayed, they're perfectly fine? Abbey: Mysterious7 was a buddha and removed 56 stress as a result.
This was part of last week's quest reward, there's only one asshole I wanna put this on and she already has one.
GOOD NEWS THOUGH, WE FINALLY GET A MYRIAD OF NEW CLASSES.
AND THE SPACE TO TAKE THEM. Boring as Week 11 was, it did give me the necessary papers to expand our roster.
Before I rename this person, I'd just like to point out, Becdelivre. that's her name. That is a name that can be a name.
She is actually AlchemistOfShorts, shorthanded to AlchemistOShorts because character limit. Alchemist is one of the new classes to Darkest Dungeon, and her big thing is that she boasts both heavy firepower and battle healing. The battle healing isn't all that great, but her arsenal is grand and she can take a hit. The only real problem is that you might've noticed she has a speed of 0. Unlike the skellingtons that do what she does, she's slow as shit.
Uitary's stay in purgatory is over and his incarnation rejoins us. In truth, absolutely no one else picked Crusader. There might be favorite classes, but this is definitely the least favorite amongst the people who signed up. It's weird.
At least the Holy Orders from the Necromancer finally finds its wielder.
So time for RevivingFairy being bad at video games. I forgot to take SailorDave's picture. But anyway, we get SailorDave the Jester in as well. Jesters boast party wide buffs, but it's really only one and it's an accuracy and crit boost that needs multiple casts to be viable. I dunno about you, but I do not want a member of my party to literally do this the entire fight. He has some pretty nice bleeds, but a lot of his skills are fickle on his position. He's heavily position reliant, getting thrown around can be really disabling for him, and unfortunately, unlike Grave Robber, he can't dance around like a fag. If this is a problem, your one option is to run his basic attack which has the side effect of shooting him all the way forward, which is a swell idea considering Jester is one of the most frail classes in the game. He does have a couple ways to bleed enemies and a skill like the Hellion's debuff attacks, except it's an even worse debuff after using it and it's not nearly as cool, but it is quite powerful.
Anyway, Lockjaw is really debilitating, so since NinthRoyal is not joining us today, I fix his horrible problems.
Tana's off to tell Jesus about last week.
And I take the leftover papers and make skill training considerably cheaper. I am, after all, about to do some heavy overhauls and upgrades on some of our characters.
God help me Kaoxitium is back and is able to join us again. I am sick as tired of watching party heal fail to save lives, so I get the single-target heal instead.
I did more failures to take screenies but this quest is actually special, so I'll just pretend I'm keeping a secret.
Generic-Knight, Maltramac, AttObl, and Kaoxitium is our A-Team for this quest. See, the last week, while it was worst week, was the last quest needed to clear that path to the boss. I was reaaaaally conflicted on what quest to pick because there were a lot of good choices, but I eventually figured we end this season with a bang.
It's medium length, it's Apprentice diffiulty, it's a boss quest.

__--** WEEK 13 **--__
On the last exciting episode of Darkest Dungeon, RevivingFairy decided to send the A-Team to say hello to Grandma. Everyone was on board with this except Kaoxitium at the ABSOLUTELY VERY LAST SECOND. Plenty of stew and cookies were had regardless, but everyone managed to make it back just fine and bring RevivingFairy some of Grandma's cookies, even though Grandma insisted they stay for seconds.
Last Week: Abbey: Tanasinn prayed some stress away. Yep. 86 stress. Sanitarium: NinthRoyal's debilitating nega-quirk has been removed. Thank god.
So after doing Week 12 and stopping to work on updates, this game got a balance patch. One of the bigger chances was that protection got completely reworked. Now, instead of a flat reduction to damage, PROT now reduces damage by a precentage. Definitely not as powerful as it was, but it should now have use later in the game. That and the class skills that give protection now gives a rather large chunk, like 20% or 25%.
Anyway, this is Bommelom our new Arbalest. Pretty unremarkable except for the stomach cramps and the reasons why she is banned from the Brothel. I think the only difference between her and Alchemist is that she can actually mark dudes, however much that's worth.
Grandma's recipes help perfect the hero barracks. We now have the maximum roster size: 22. I have more than 22 sign-ups, but not by a whole lot actually.
I also receive just enough statue heads to open up another slot in the Sanitarium. Curealls and straightjackets for all!
we...won't be getting that third slot for a long, long while. It requires SEVENTY-TWO heads to unlock. That's a lot of heads.
Still, at least the Sanitarium looks pretty snazzy now.
If you haven't noticed over the past 12 weeks, as we upgrade our buildings, they stop being dilapidated and awful and start regaining some of that allegedly old shine they once had.
You're welcome.
I have plans for Generic, but first, healing stress.
And more.
And more.
Maltramac has a rather unpleasant nega-quirk that makes it so she can ONLY go to the Brothel for stress relief. It's okay though, I'll fix her "Love Interest" in due time.
...I don't mean kill him and/or her. I mean Sanitarium. There may not be such a thing as love potions but there ARE hate potions.
I seem to be in an upgrading mood today. Actually, the tavern upgrades are some of the cheapest upgrades. The only reason why I didn't go for them is because the paintings are used to upgrade the Guild, and I did not want to be short on them when it got unlocked.
Aether gambles, and that is like all the slots ever filled except for like, one or two.
They would be filled if I had the money.
I start patching up Tanasinn's and Mysterious7's horrible problems.
I once again fail to show the embark screen. I need to kill this running gag.
Oh well, I'll just talk over the caretaker. This month is newbie month! I have oodles of greenhorns and their presence and constant nagging to go on adventures is getting to me. So I am going to MAKE THEM FEARFUL AHAHAHA
SolAndLuna is gonna lead SailorDave, Ibuki Mioda, and AlchemistofShorts in to the Ruins for a nice medium length skirmish quest. Ibuki might not be a newbie, but I'm pretty sure Ibuki will say otherwise.
