GlitchY Mode
You wake up at school, but something is wrong. Nearly everything has lost its color, rooms have moved around, and the exit is unreachable. You have some amnesia about what happened, but your memories gradually return to you as the hours go on.
DIS Agent: You are a highly trained police officer specialized in hunting and killing Glitches, which are futuristic weapons created from people's data. You do not immediately remember how you got here today, but you have been hiding out at this school while investigating reports of a Glitch. If you find any Glitches, it is your duty to eliminate them and protect innocent people from being harmed by them. You do not view Glitches as people. They are monsters that mindlessly massacre humans and must be stopped at all costs.
At midnight, you and everyone else will realize that you were killed by a Glitch. Now, you are within The System's grasp and are gradually being converted into new Glitches to harm even more people. As The DIS Agent, you are faced with a dire choice: Spare the innocent kids and allow many of them to respawn as monsters, or annihilate the already deceased students to save civilians who have yet to die? If you do choose to fight, you have a special power that will be explained to you at midnight.
Everyone Else: If there are less than 10 people in the round, then everyone besides the DIS Agent will turn into a Glitch by midnight. You still retain your personality after becoming a Glitch, but you are controlled by an entity known as The System that wants to take over Japan and the rest of the world. Flavor text sprinkled throughout the mode every hour will flesh out the world and your own backstory. Use or ignore the information given at your leisure to create a fun experience for yourself and other players.
If there are more than 10 players in a round, then some people will not turn into Glitches and will not receive any personal backstory flavor text. The background is generally still the same for those players: You were killed by a Glitch in base reality, your data was backed up into the ultranet, and at 6AM, you are expected to be transformed into a Glitch and used to kill more people.
Glitches either spawn with a short ranged sword that does medium-high damage or a medium ranged gun that does medium damage. The DIS Agent starts with a long ranged pistol that does medium damage, and has access to new weapons starting at midnight if they choose to fight.
TL;DR: The DIS Agent is the antagonist role and the students all have protagonist roles. The DIS Agent wants to wipe out Glitches to protect Japan and its citizens. The students want to survive for several reasons- to see their families again, to have a second chance at life, or to get revenge. The Agent starts off trying to protect the students, but as they gradually turn into Glitches, the lines get blurred and that is where the conflict arises from.
