Hunter Mode
As the Hunter's Helper, you are the unwitting accomplice. You don't know the Hunter killed the teacher and finding out that they did would probably piss you off. Your goal is to prove vampires don't exist, or to have the hunter prove they do, to get you on their side.
The second variant of Hunter Mode is when any of the two vampires spawn. This will stop the Infected Student from spawning. The vampires have different agendas however, their primary agenda is survival against the Hunters. The vampires are not the killers, however their goals are to convert.
As the Vampire, you are a recent convertee to another vampire. Your primary goal should be to convert other vampires to fight off the hunters if they find you, which they inevitably will. You are not the killer, however your goal should be to turn students for self preservation.
As the Original Vampire, you are the one whom converted the Vampire into a Vampire. Your goal should be to protect them but also keep them at a comfortable distance. If they betray you, you betray them. You have a pulse. They do not. Your primary goal should be tricking the hunters, or going about your own business.
As the Hunter's Helper AND the Original Vampire, your primary goal should be misleading the hunter by abusing his trust and most definitely converting students. As you are both a killing and support role. You know who the hunter and the vampire are. A perfectly alternative way to play this role is the exact opposite of the above by convincing the Hunter that everyone in the school is a vampire and they must die.
Check Pulse
You will notice a new verb in your tab. If you were injected, this tab will appear upon the next in-game hour toll for you.
This verb requires 3 seconds standing still to print. If either of you move it has a probability of printing a misleading pulse.
Stepping 2-3 tiles away will most definitely screw this up, and only the Hunter will know if the pulse check was screwed up.
Not even the Hunter Helper gets this knowledge.
There is a 10% chance of normal people having no pulse. Also, the hunter and hunter helper can have no pulse.
Drink Blood
If you're a vampire, you will have this verb. It drinks blood and will heal you a little bit for it. It can only bite people who are alive, and only heals you if that person has a pulse.
The rate is about 1 damage every 0.9 seconds and you heal 0.3 health for every 1 damage you do. So you will heal 30 health for consuming an entire meal.
It also inflicts the venom which converts someone into a vampire if you knock them below 45 health with it.
Turning into a Vampire
If you are the bitten three times, you will begin to very slowly trickle out over time. This is not much of a problem, and more of a nuisance. It will likely not kill you unless you're super weak, and takes around 20 minutes to do so anyways. Unless you're the infected student, in which case that rate is doubled.
After 3 bites, dying will gives you a chance to rise up as a vampire. You will always rise if you are the Infected Student, unless you are Staked.
Being staked reduces your chances to 15%.
There are three variants of vampires.
90% Regular, which has 110% attack power and no pulse.
5% Pulse, which has 110% attack power and a pulse.
5% Resilient, which has 110% attack power, 90% incoming damage, no pulse, and is extremely obvious upon rising.
If you are staked. The above values are slashed dramatically.
Stakes
Stakes are everywhere. But they're also a limited resource which is required to fight off the impending horde of vampires. They have a relatively medium-low spawn rate and can be useful in combat. They do 8-12 (scales with lethality) damage to whoever you stake. You can stake people whom are knocked down, faking death, sleeping and even corpses. If you stake a vampire whom is still alive, but below 20% health, they will count as staked even before dying.
Staking a vampire, whether alive or dead, so long as they are below 20% health, will reduce their rise chance to 15%.
Stakes have a 5% chance to not work. So staking twice is a valid option. But more than that is probably too much.
Welcome to Hunter Mode
Odds are the Vampire didn't spawn, so read the first half of the guide.
If you are the Vampire read the second half.
After you are done, you should read the bottom for functionality.
In Hunter Mode, the Hunter killed the presumably innocent teacher in the courtyard. In the primary variant, which should usually be one of the most common, the Vampire and the Original Vampire will not spawn. If this is the case, one of the students, regardless of role toggling will the randomly infected.
As the Infected Student, you should act like a regular student, as your goals are the same as a regular student. You just had an unfortunate run in with a Vampire resulting in your subsequent infection. If you die and rise, your goals are your own to control.
As the Hunter, you are the Killer. You killed the teacher thinking she was a vampire, there is no actual proof she IS a vampire, so you must find proof vampires exist elsewhere. If the Hunter's Helper spawns, you must NOT tell them you killed the teacher, they must remain an unwitting accomplice to your deeds until you can prove vampires do exist.
