Byond key: [Anyone] Server banned from: MetaFrosty's Shell Server Host/Minihost you were banned by: [Any Minihost] Reason for ban: Having broken rule 4 being one of the reasons. Why you should be un-banned: Rule 4 is a joke rule. As we clearly see here: misuteriihigh.boards.net/thread/352/minihosts-mistake-ban-happen?page=1&scrollTo=1294Soji, who, there's no denying, broke rule 4 intentionally for almost an entire round, was not banned nor given any warning, as far as I know. If this is not the case and Soji was given a warning and a strike, I apologize and you may delete this thread. Otherwise.. I make a formal request to re-investigate anyone banned who had "breaking rule 4" on their list of infractions, as this is, apparently, a joke rule, and should be treated as such. To not do so would be extremely unfair and biased behavior. Rule 4 should be treated as a major rule, especially if broken intentionally. And that's all I want from this, having that confirmed would be great and solve the entire issue. Thank you for your time.

I don't think anyone has been banned for rule 4. It's there to encourage people to follow their roles so the round doesn't go nowhere. I'm especially reluctant to do anything about roles in Umineko because it's such a vague mode. The detective isn't a vital role. The ultimate goal of the mode is for the witch to kill all the other students, preferably without breaking the knox decalogue. The detective is there to enforce that they don't break it, but their absence doesn't hurt the round (especially because of the real issue of the witch-detective dynamic leaving ordinary players out of the loop). The whole mode needs a reworking, to the point that I'm tempted to outright scrap it. Maybe I can make a thread in Suggestions for people to brainstorm a better umineko mode.

Agreed. Thank you for the clear up on Soji's case. To the latter, as posted, that's not a job given to the witch to do in their role description. Now that we know your intent behind the role, it becomes less vague, however, the witch role is only told to 'create the truth that best suits them'.
Doing something to improve the mode is definitely a must. We've all seen it's the most controversial mode in the game, and not just in this case but in others.
To the former, that makes sense, but again I'll say this: rule 4, if broken intentionally, should be treated as seriously as rule 2, no griefing. It's mostly a pet peeve, I'll admit, but it is something that negatively affects rounds, as we can see. It should be a warning and more, if it's intentional, because it's griefing the other players in a round. Not to mention if this happens in a full round with spillover, someone gets a role and then refuses to do it. That's not fair to the people who didn't get to play at all, and it's not fair to the people in a round.
That's all I have to say on the issue.
Thanks for responding, Frosty.

As to the no one being banned, I Could not stop myself from posting, not sure if its even relevant as to this topic but misuteriihigh.boards.net/thread/276/unban-request , that was punished under rule 4 and 2 according to mods at the time, if I can recall correctly and from what I've read Soji had done the same thing in their round. Maybe I'm thinking too much into it so correct me if I'm wrong, not trying to get him punished or whatever as the situation is long over, intentional or not, but apparently there's a list of people banned for doing the same. I can't really tell the difference between this and that, so again, feel free to correct me. More for my own peace of mind if anything. .---.
