Welcome!
I see you found your way to this topic, good eye! This is a Roleplay thread/sign-up for a Table-top game called Bliss Stage, which If this draws enough players, will likely be hosted as a Skype group (for ease-of access, instantaneous response times, quick play,etc.). This game takes upon varying elements from Post-apocalyptic, Sci-fi Mecha vs Alien combat to Highly successful, yet romantic relationships.
As is the standard tradition for most tabletop games, character creation takes place in the form of 'Pilots', which have six templates, 'Anchors', which in place of templates instead have 'Reasons' for being their Pilot's partner (Be it Romantic or business.), and Sub characters (which I'll cover in a moment.). The very motto for this game is "Love is Your Weapon", meaning that the IC relationships that you forge are Crucial to your experience in playing...
The Story!
Bliss Stage takes place in the middle of a Post-apocalyptic, war-riddled setting that has been progressing for Seven years straight with no end in sight; the enemy who dare seek to wreak war upon the whole planet? Its Obvious enough: ALIENS. These Aliens control drones called "Remotes" (No, not a TV remote.). These "Remotes" vary in form upon the real world And the dream world, usually in the forms of Giant humanoid figures wrought in flesh and metal..
Since Day One: Every adult in the entire world has slowly been reduced to a vegetable-like Coma called "Bliss", until finally reducing the majority of the whole Adult population into its grip; thus leaving the entire Teenage and Child populace to fend for themselves by forming violent gangs. That is, aside from a small handful that have somehow kept themselves awake, who in-turn after these long years started up "Resistance Camps" after somehow reverse-engineering the Alien Technology into a fighting chance called the ANIMa!
The downside... THEY'RE ONLY PILOTED BY TEENAGERS! (I.e. the pilot characters in the dream world, and co-piloted from the real world by the Anchor.)
It is up to the rambuctuous teenage pilots to actually defeat the Alien menace, and realize their Hopes.. How you may ask? Through building strong relationships and Powering up their ANIMa in the dream world!
The Characters!
As I mentioned earlier, I was gonna cover this.. Basically your sub-characters (i.e. the other kids/teens in the Resistance camp) are characters that have no preset templates and are pretty-much free form creation to my knowledge. Your pilots come in the templates of Innocent Sweetheart, Eager Young Soldier, Devoted Lover, Rising Hero, Carefree Hedonist, and Seasoned Veteran. (if you join, ask what the starting stats are for the one you want! and choose from there!)
Your Anchors/Co-pilots actually have 'Ability/personality Templates', being as follows: Savvy, Experienced, Tempestuous, Kind, Driven, and Comforting. (same deal: ask what these abilities/templates do.) Other than this, personality, gender, and age is baiscally free-form if it fits the 'Mostly Teenage' motif.
The Authority Figure is essentially a Waking Adult character owned by the GM ONLY, or if certain circumstances arise.... Other teenagers. They are essentially the same template for sub-characters, only with pivotal importance.
ETC..(Kinda.)! (more story detail and other information.)
The typical session will be holding a 'third' system, in which your pilots and anchors shall be briefed about a variety of missions created by the GM/Authority figure (The waking Adult.), explore the ever-shifting dreamscape in their ANIMa and battle Nightmare's, Remotes, and a mass variety of things (while trying not to 'Bliss out' by succumbing to the Bliss.), and finally wrap everything up with Interim actions (which can build, fix, or even advance your relationships with certain characters.)
The Anima's are essentially free-forming mecha that are only formed in the dream world when the Pilot characters partake in missions, and their weapons/parts are forged by the relationships you will be maintaining throughout the actual story. Hatred is also a weapon/part component, but.. the things generated by that are pretty frail.
Guest Players are allowed to partake in sigular sessions to give it a whirl. (if you don't plan on full engagement into this.. things can be arranged.)
If you, the reader, have any further questions: do feel free to ask about this in by either replying to this, or by a watcher chat that I am in. (preferrably the prior as to prevent mass chat flooding!)
