Turnabout Mode is a combination of Normal and Death Note modes, with slight differences. It also draws inspiration from the Ace Attorney series. There are eight roles, and the mode requires eight players to play.
Roles:
The Killer
As the one who killed the teacher, it's the killer's job to not get caught. They are also expected, but not required, to kill everyone else, or to attempt to. They have no special abilities, and are basically the same as the killer role in Normal mode.
The Accomplice
This role helped in the murder of the teacher, and starts the game knowing the Killer's identity. They also killed the teacher, so what they do next, whatever that may be, should be done with that fact in mind. It's probably a good idea to team up with your partner, the killer, in order to kill everyone in the school, but you don't have to. They have no special abilities.
Kira
This role believes they are justice, and has been killing criminals ever since they picked up their Death Note, a mystical notebook that allows them to kill anyone with only a face and a name. They are trapped in the school lockdown along with their fellow students, and are determined to catch or kill the killer. They start out with a Death Note.
The Shinigami Eyes
A role that starts out with the Shinigami Eyes, allowing them to see the names of everyone. This is an independent role, free to do whatever they want. They do not start out with a Death Note, as they were born with the Eyes.
The Prosecuting Attorney
This person is here in the school, disguised as a student, in order to catch Kira. They gain clues throughout the round in order to aid them in doing this. They are also partnered with a Detective. They also have verbs that allow them to use phrases from the Ace Attorney series.
The Detective
This is a police detective from the Metropolitan Police Headquarters. They were hired by L to aid the Prosecuting Attorney in their investigation to catch Kira. They have no special abilities, but may have a verb added at a later time. However, they do start with a taser. They have no knowledge about Kira or how they kill at the start of the round.
The Defense Attorney
The Defense Attorney is a young, new, successful lawyer who was supposed to be meeting with their client, a teacher at this school. Things didn't go as planned, though, as their client is now dead. They are now trapped with a killer, and, with the help of their partner, have to survive the night, and possibly solve the case and catch the killer at the same time. They also have verbs that they share with the other Attorney.
The Psychic Assistant
A psychic that works with the Defense Attorney. They were here to meet their client, but are now locked in the school with a killer. The night has turned into a battle for survival, and to make things more complicated, they're being beleaguered by constant visions. Just how will this night turn out? Not even this psychic knows.
Update: Detective and a couple of mode features improved, Attorney verbs added, mode complete and released.
