Welcome to the help guide for Misuterii High. Below is all the information you'll need to get started in the game.
--Basics--
A simple run-down of the basic gameplay
-When you login, click the "Stats" button at the top of the screen. If there's currently a game in progress you'll be able to click "Watch" to watch the game. I might recommend watching a round or two before playing, so you can get a feel for how things work.
-If not, or when it ends, you'll be able to sign up to the round by clicking the "signup" button, which will add you to the list of players. The game will then begin when the host or autohost starts the round.
-When the round starts, each player will be randomly generated a character with a random name, based on your gender. One player will be randomly selected as the culprit (Other players may be selected as additional roles depending on the game mode).
-Your character will have an alias, usually based on their hair color i.e. "The Black Haired Boy"
-A teacher will have been killed by the culprit, triggering a lockdown of the school, preventing anyone from leaving.
-The killer's job is to kill the other players.
-The rest of the players must discover the killer's identity.
-The players interact with each other by roleplaying as their characters
-The round will last twelve in-game hours (set by the host) at which point it will end and display the list of players, their character's names, whether they're alive or dead and who the roles are.
-Players can attack each other by equipping weapons and clicking on each other. Each weapon is either lethal or non-lethal.
-Lethal weapons will damage a player, whilst non-lethal weapons will lower a player's stamina. When someone's HP hits 0, they will die and be out of the round. When their stamina hits 0, they will collapse for a few seconds, allowing players to drag them, or steal their items.
-If you die you'll become a Watcher, allowing you to walk around the map and watch the remainder of the game, whilst chatting with other watchers.
-You can search certain objects on the map by either clicking on them or using the "search" verb while standing next to them. If they have items inside, you can double-click on them to take them and add them to your inventory. Some containers even let you drag them around.
-If you find a security clearance card in a container then you can take it to the main gate and escape, leaving the school.
---Hosts---
If you host your own server, you'll have special powers to help you moderate it.
Options: If you click on the blue button, you can change the game settings.
Game mode: Here you can select the game mode. By default it is set to "Normal"
Hour duration: Here you select the length of each in-game hour. By default it is five minutes.
Lethality level: Here you select the damage scale. The higher it is, the more damage attacking will do.
Attack Delay: If this is on, players will be unable to attack each other at the start of the round, until the delay is up.
Computer functionality: If this is off, the computer will not function, stopping players from making announcements or looking up information on the roster
Item spawn rate: The higher this is, the more likely it is that items will spawn.
Autopolling: If this is on, the game will ask the players to pick a mode. Once it ends, or all players have voted, the mode will be set to the mode with the most votes.
Autohosting: If this is on, the game will automatically begin after the specified time is up, so that the host may step away.
Verbs: In the special host tab are some verbs for moderating yor server.
Boot: This will boot a player from your server. This will allow them to rejoin, however.
Boot from round: This will boot a player from the round, in the case they break the rules and you need to eject them from the round without banning them.
ChangeMotd: When a player logs in they will see a small window with a customizable message in it. You can set that message with this.
Mute/unmute player: This will allow you to disable the ability for a chosen player to talk. Select them again to unmute them.
Set/remove mini-host: Use this to select a player as a minihost. This will allow you to choose players you trust as staff for your server. They'll be able to do anything you can, besides picking and removing mini-hosts, and banning via dream daemon.
Reboot: This will reboot the server
As a special note, there is no verb for banning a player. Please use Dream Daemon to ban troublesome players as this is more reliable.
