This mode is a battle between L and B, or Beyond Birthday, from the Another Note novel. There's also a high school detective who can randomly spawn based on the number of players. It's kind of a silly little mode. I may or may not add a stray Shinigami later.
There is no Kira at this time, so like, no Death Note or anything either.
Here's the role text for all three roles:
You're Beyond Birthday!
You've snuck in by disguising yourself as a high school student and killed a detective disguised as a teacher in the courtyard. You did this in order to gain the attention of the world's greatest detective, L. You were born with the eyes of a shinigami, and can see other people's names. All you want is to outhink and best L, who you know was supposed to be meeting with two detectives tonight, including the teacher. That means L is in this school, most likely disguised as well. And there may be another detective lurking around. What you do next is up to you. Don't get caught.
You're L!
You're the world's greatest detective. You came here tonight to meet up with a rising high school detective, or at least, that's what you told them. Now the school is on lockdown, and the undercover detective you'd assigned to watch the amateur sleuth, the teacher, is dead. What you expected has come true. B, the Wara-Ningyo serial killer, is in the school, disguised as one of the students, just as you are. It's up to you to use your brilliant mind to catch him and put an end to this game you two have been playing.
You're the High School Detective!
You're an amateur detective who goes to this high school. Recently, you've been solving more and more cases. You've even gained the attention of the world's greatest detective, L. He was supposed to meet you here tonight, along with another detective, but for some unknown reason there was a murder and the school is now on lockdown. Try to figure out what's happening, and make contact with L.
As for any special abilities, Beyond Birthday has the Shinigami Eyes, and L usually deduces who B is by around 9 PM. The High School Detective does nothing special in particular but know about L.
