OVERVIEW
In Fighting Academy Mode, everyone's at least a little bit special. Then again, something about that makes it a little less special. Perhaps that's what caused the murder tonight.
Everyone in the school has access to a spiritual energy known as Aura. In it's most common form, it is Blue, and it enhances the physique and strength of an individual yet is almost entirely nonlethal when fighting another Aura User. For this reason, Blue Aura is commonplace in tournament-style fighting competitions, and fighting with Aura is taught at specialized establishments; case in point, Misuterii (or whatever map is being played at the time).
In a tournament-style fight, there are indeed restrictions placed upon a fighter, though they may be few due to the inherent nonlethal nature of Blue Aura. Naturally over the course of the lockdown there are no officials to preside over, but disputes may arise that may end in the individuals involved agreeing to a tournament-style fight to resolve their differences. The rules are as follows:
1. The fight will continue until a contestant is unconscious or until one yields to the other fighter.
2. No blows will be landed upon a contestant while they are unconscious or otherwise incapable of taking the blow. ('otherwise incapable of taking the blow' refers to when a character is knocked down)
3. Breaking either of these rules results in a forfeiture to the other contestant.
Tonight, though, for some reason one of the students has killed a (presumably innocent) teacher at the school. This act has tainted their aura into a murderous Red shade. Their aura is no longer nonlethal, even against other aura users. Their aura is no longer a tool of sanctioned fighting, it is one of continued murder. As well, the Red Aura has an influence over it's user, even though the Aura cannot truly be considered alive. It will push it's wielder to commit more and more acts of murder and bloodshed to sate itself.
MECHANICS:
Everyone starts out with the Blue Aura Fist, a nonlethal upgrade to the standard fists weapon.
(30%) They may also start with the Blue Aura Sphere, a ranged alternative to the Blue Aura Fist. It is also slightly more powerful, but but slower.
The Blue Aura weapons are nonlethal, but upon striking an individual that is either unconscious or otherwise knocked down, will begin to do lethal damage to the target.
The Killer, instead of having any of the Blue Aura Weapons, instead comes equipped with the Red Aura Fist and Sphere. They do essentially the same damage as the Blue Aura Weapons, but do lethal damage instead of nonlethal.
If a Blue Aura User kills anyone that does not have Red Aura, they themselves will lose their Blue Aura and gain Red Aura. They will gain Red Aura Fist, and will have the chance to gain Red Aura Sphere. Keep in mind that this is not guaranteed if the Blue Aura User previously had the Blue Aura Sphere.
GUIDELINES/GENERAL KNOWLEDGE:
The students are aware of all the details given in the overview, with the exception of the existence of Red Aura. The existence of Red Aura is kept on the down low by pretty much everyone who knows about it. It's up to the students themselves to find out what exactly that Red Aura means if they encounter it and aren't immediately privy to the knowledge that it was gained through murder.
CLOSING:
Feel free to reply to this thread if there's any questions regarding the mode, or the guide itself, and I'll probably alter the guide to accommodate said question.
